Marshall Elementary School has approximately 450 students enrolled from pre-kindergarten and head-start through 2nd grade and averages 20 students per class.
I feel a sense of pride in being the principal of such an outstanding elementary school. The staff is dedicated and skilled with a commitment to delivering high quality educational instruction that is well organized and developmentally appropriate. Our integrated curriculum includes language arts (reading, writing, spelling, and English), mathmatics, science, social studies, art, music, and physical education. Students have the opportunity to attend the media center at least once a week. Our state of the art computer lab serves grades pre-k through 2nd.
Marshall Elementary offers a variety of support programs, speech services, Resource Reading, Indian Education, and Grandmother Program. Specific special education programs provide specialized instruction for students experiencing academic difficulty in their classroom. The school nurse is on site to assist with any health related concerns. The school counselor is available to assist students as needed through individual school counseling and classroom guidance activities.
Character development through the Great Expectations and the Al's Pals program is emphasized at Marshall. Great Expectations promotes a philosophy that includes character development and positive student/teacher relationships. Al's Pals is designed to increase pro-social skills in young children such as identifying and understanding feelings, making healthy choices, and solving conflict non-violently.We consider the child's physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development when meeting their education needs. Marshall Elementary teachers support the basic tenant that "all children can learn."
